Hi, my name is Erica and I am a pianist currently studying piano performance at Wesleyan College. I have been teaching music for the past year. I have been a student of music for 12+ years. My musical influences include Beethoven, Chopin, Lady Gaga, and Alicia Keys, and I also enjoy many other styles and genres of music. My teaching style can best be described as friendly, patient, goal-oriented, and care-free. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I want my students to feel they have an opinion and freedom to chose what they would like to learn because that is what motivates us to learn. In my lessons, you can expect to learn basic technical skills that improve technique, the music theory needed to understand music, and to sightread. I like to tell my students once you learn the basics early, the easier and faster it will be to play your favorite songs anytime you want. What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Students can expect to learn the basic keyboard and piano knowledge needed to truly understand how music works and will make them better pianists at the end of the day. They will learn overtime, all major and minor scales, arpeggios, chords in all keys, basic music terminology, how to sight-read effectively, and their choice of music!

Performing Experience:
Erica entered GMTA and MTNA competitions from the age of 9-22, getting superior scores every year in solo and hymn playing. She was runner up in the Joseph Maerz competition 2016. She also won the Atlanta Steinway competition and scholarship. Her performing experience has taken her across the Atlantic to perform in Italy on tour along with her instructor and other musicians in the Grumo Festival.
