6 years of teaching exper Years
Hello! I'm Luke. I am a recent graduate of Mars Hill University, with a Bachelors of Music Performance. While in school, I participated in the University Wind Ensemble, Choir, Percussion Ensemble, World Percussion Ensembles, Jazz Ensemble, and the Marching Band. I have also marched in the Independent Open Class WGI Group "Saints Percussion" and Independent World Class WGI Group "Equinox Percussion." I now teach at Equinox, Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps, and local high schools. I can help you prepare for auditions, or teach you from scratch, or just help you learn your favorite songs! I teach very pedagogically, meaning I like to focus on building a solid foundation so that you can take your skills and run with them! Regardless of your goals, as long as you have a passion for learning and music, I can set you up for success!
Luke R. has over 6 years of teaching exper years of music experience in the Swannanoa area.
Luke R. is proficient in and teaches Drum Lessons, Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Orchestral Lessons .What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Relaxed, yet focused lessons, working on building a strong foundation on technique, control, feel, and limb independence. I will accommodate for one's personal learning style, so that every student feels like they are being taught the best way for them. I could help you learn how to read drum charts, or just your favorite songs, or both!
What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
Relaxed, yet focused lessons, working on building a strong foundation on technique, control, feel, and reading. I will accommodate for one's personal learning style, so that every student feels like they are being taught the best way for them. I can also do mock auditions, for orchestras or for schools. We can do solo repertoire, and depending on where our lessons take place, we can do it on any percussion instruments available. I personally own a drum kit, a vibraphone, a djembe, and a triangle. If I am able to teach at your/my local school, we can use any of their instruments.
