RJ has always loved music from an early age. He began playing guitar and writing songs at the age of 17 and continued his education by studying with UNT Jazz graduate Joel Cross. His musical influences include John Mayer, Lenny Kravitz, Jimi Hendrix and Ray LaMontagne. RJ's favorite thing about music is the feel and soul and his favorite thing about teaching music is sharing his talents and gifts with his students so that they can surpass not only himself but also their own goals, it’s all about having fun.
One of his favorite teaching experiences was teaching his many students over the years the importance of having fun playing guitar and the discipline it can teach at the same time. When taking lessons with RJ you can expect to learn everything there is to know about playing beginner to intermediate guitar.
