Mary has always loved music from an early age. She began playing piano at the age of 6 and continued her education by receiving a Master of Arts in Pastoral Liturgy and Music. Her musical influences include contemporary and classical.
Mary's favorite thing about music is the way it sings to the soul and her favorite thing about teaching music is seeing students experience the joy of making music. One of her favorite teaching experiences was watching a student make a breakthrough on a challenging problem. What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner -
Students will learn proper vocal techniques and will also be taught theory. Students will keep a notebook in addition to vocal and theory books that will keep track of their practice times, challenges and accomplishments. Goals for the following session will be established near the end of the lesson. I teach with humor, honest praise and respect. I will always listen to the concerns of children and parents and work to develop a plan that keeps students interested in invested in their growth.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Students will learn piano and keyboard skills as well as theory appropriate to their age and ability. Students will keep a notebook in addition to piano and theory books that will keep track of their practice times, challenges and accomplishments. Goals for the following session will be established near the end of the lesson. I teach with humor, honest praise and respect. I will always listen to the concerns of children and parents and work to develop a plan that keeps students interested in invested in their growth.
