About Me

I am a current Jazz Guitar/Music Education major in college. I have studied under a Berklee Performance School graduate for most of my playing years. I continue to study with him and I also study with one of the East Coast's finest Jazz Guitar teachers in college, Tom Giacabetti. I also study Jazz Piano and take choral classes. Music IS my life, with the Guitar being the heart of my life!

I currently teach my own students that range from 8 years old to 55 years old. I have a great retention rate with my students, many of whom have studied with me for over three years now. I get along well with my students and I love teaching them. I also teach at a music school by the name of Rock & Roll After School (think School of Rock, only better, John Lilly of The Hooters is one of the guitar teachers there too!) I teach there one day a week.

My college schedule allows me a great deal of flexibility, so I am able to work with my student's schedules well.

I also play in two bands, one is a classic rock band with much older players and the other is a more modern rock, original band with players my own age. My own personal favorite type of music is today's Progressive Rock, such as Steve Vai, Rob Ballducci, Dave Weiner and such, the latter which I have had the pleasure of in home lessons with. I also have a very nicely equipped, full studio here at my location.

Private Education:

I began lessons with my father, who played all the "A" rooms along the East Coast for many years. He then felt that I rapidly had out grown what he could offer me and found another great teacher for me.

I then began to study with Brian Aglira (Berklee Performance School Grad) and continue to now.

I also study with Tom Giacabetti, as my primary college Jazz Guitar professor.

I have had the pleasure to also study with Dave Weiner (Steve Vai's 2nd guitarist) at his home in Pennsylvania (before he moved to LA to teach at the Guitar Institute.

Performing Experience:

I perform with a Classic Rock band where I am the youngest player by many years, with most of the players in their 50's. I play lead and rhythm guitar with them and I am the primary lead guitarist. We cover everything from The Beatles to Zappa.

I also play with a younger more modern rock, original band of my own. I have played out with both bands and continue to now.

Experience Teaching:

I began teaching one year after I began playing. I was a very fast learner and had out paced the guitar players in my area that had been playig for many years. I was soon teaching all of my friends that had over 8 years of lessons on me. I then brnached out onto Craig's List and began taking on students of all ages and levels. I have done this now for five years. This past year after getting some medai exposure for the Sam Ash "Best in Shred" contest, I was contacted by the "Rock & Roll After School" to teach their more advanced student there. I continue to teach there one day a week and also teach on my own at my studio.
