Hi, my name is Cruz and I am a Guitarist from El Paso. I have been a student of music for over 18 years. My musical influences include classical music, electronica and I also enjoy film scores. My teaching style can best be described as a mix of demonstration, explanation and execution. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I believe music should be fun first and foremost. As your instructor I want to teach you music you love and enjoy. If your not sure what you want to learn then we will explore the various music of guitar until we find something right for you. In my lessons, you can expect to learn fundamental techniques, various exercises, advance techniques, proper form, how to read and write music, how to count rhythm and most importantly music you love. I like to tell my students music is the metaphor for your feelings, it's the universal language we can all understand and it's my job to help you learn it. My favorite thing about teaching is witnessing the growth in my students. My favorite performance was at the Fountains on my birthday. I was able to play for my mother who was ill at the time and she able to hear all the music I had written for her. My students love that I have great patience and never get mad or talk down to them. I primarily teach classical guitar, but I can also teach pop songs, flamenco, finger styleand various other guitar styles and techniques. My approach as a teacher is to involve and allow my students a voice in what they want to learn. Once we establish what we will work on I can teach the appropriate techniques and exercises needed.
