Hi, everyone! My name is Trace and I began playing the guitar and taking lessons at the age of ten. Over the years, I never stopped being a student of music, which in turn developed my playing ability, as well as my singing and writing ability. I first gained performance experience touring with an award-winning Bluegrass band. Now, I frequently play in the Richmond, Va area at venues such as River City Roll, Hardywood and the Richmond Music Hall with my band-Slate River Unplugged. I have played, taught and continue to admire many genres of music, but I'd have to say my musical personal favorites are Traditional Country, Classic Rock, Folk and Americana which had great influence on my style of playing and writing. Music has been a huge part of my life, I was practically raised on a tour bus. I love music because it is one of the few things in this world that has the power to bring people from completely different backgrounds together. What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Regardless of the level of player, my goal is to make each lesson fun and rememberable. The learning curve of an instrument can be quite frustrating at times, so I will always try to keep my students in good spirits first and foremost. I will emphasize how important the basics are and we will work to build a strong base first. From there, I will assist them in whichever direction they want to go. This is their lesson-I want to allow their creative minds to explore.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
It is all about discovering ways in which an individual can get that creativity inside them going. It is different for everyone. For some it's love, for other's it may be heartache. My goal will be to help them find that creativity within themselves. Once that is achieved, I will teach them how to structure a song and put a melody behind it.
