Blake has been playing bass professionally for over 25 years He played with the US Air Force Band in Washington, DC for 21 years. He studied privately at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California; the University of Alaska in Anchorage, and at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. He has performed extensively throughout the United States, Canada, the Azores, Asia, and South America. He has also been a featured performer at the White House.
He has performed with Jeffrey Osbourne, Rita Coolidge, The Gatlin Brothers, The Big Apple Circus, and several popular dance/wedding bands in the Washington, DC area.
Blake has over seven years experience teaching private electric bass lessons in Anchorage, Ak and Oxon Hill, MD.

Blake Wa is proficient in and teaches Bass Guitar Lessons .Formal Education:
College courses in: Jazz theory, traditional theory, sight singing and ear training, music appreciation, class piano, jazz ensemble, marching band.
Private Education:
Studied bass with Jim Kalson in San Antonio, TX from 1987-1992..Studied double bass with Miriam DeLapp of the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra from 1993-1994. Studied double bass at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA with Dr. Glen Dewey. 1998-1999. Studied electric bass in Waldorf, MD with Anthony Wellington from 2004-2005.
Performing Experience:
21 years as bassist with the US Air Force Band.
I played from 1986-1992 in the USAF Band of the West in San Antonio, TX.
I played from1992-1997 in the USAF Band of the Pacific in Anchorage, AK
I played from 1998-2007 in the USAF Band in Washington, DC.
21+ years experience performing as a freelance bassist for weddings, corporate events, ceremonies etc.
Experience Teaching:
I taught 7 students out of my home in Alaska for 3 years.
I taught bass at Oxon Hill Music in Oxon Hill, MD for 1 year.
I was a guest lecturer at University of Alaska Jazz week 1996.
I presented many clinics to high school and college students as a member of the USAF Band.
