Simone has always loved music from an early age. She began singing at the age of four along with playing piano and continued her education by getting her undergraduate degree in vocal performance from Xavier University of Louisiana and her master’s degree from Peabody Conservatory. Her musical influences include Denyce Graves her mentor, Kathleen Battle, Audrey McDonald, India Arie, Sara Bareilles and many, many more! Simone's favorite thing about music is being able to share an emotional experience with an audience and her favorite thing about teaching music is finding the special pieces in everyone's voice. One of her favorite teaching experiences was getting a younger shyer student comfortable enough to sing a solo in her church choir. When taking lessons with Simone you can expect to learn about what you are passionate about and have fun growing. What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
- Intermediate - Advanced
A focus on strong technique along with song coaching. For beginner students taking time to teach music as needed but students will be responsible for practicing outside of lesson times. Students can bring their own music they are interested in learning to lessons but I am also happy to offer suggestions!
