40 Years
Hi, my name is Antonio and I am a jazz saxophonist from Minneapolis, MN. I have been a student and performer of the saxophone for over 30 years. My musical influences include John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Paul Desmond Walter Beasley and Najee. My teaching style can best be described as flexible and fun. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that "What you see yourself as is what you become". In my lessons, you can expect to learn the basics of jazz improvisation by understanding scales, building technique and ear training. I like to tell my students to "just have fun" and you will learn faster. My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students progress and build confidence. My favorite performance was playing at Carnegie Hall back in college. My students love that I also record and produce music. I primarily teach beginning jazz, but I can also teach beginning saxophone basics. My approach as a teacher is to follow the pace of the student. Working at your own pace is a must. Thanks for taking a moment to look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon! Antonio
