Alyssa began playing guitar and singing at the age of 6. Over the years, she developed her skills further by performing, singing and studying. She gained performance experience in the vocal area by playing at such venues as ASU gamma and with acts such as musicals and performances. Though Alyssa can teach many genres of music, her musical personal favorites are Broadway, classical and jazz which had great influence on her style of playing. Alyssa loves music because she can feel emotions and can express and loves teaching music because she loves to see her students shine. What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
We will learn to follow basic steps to write. What I love about song writing is it is completely unique to who you are. We will get creative juices flowing and put it on paper.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
The quality of singing is variable, but I enjoy helping students improve themselves. Every lesson is different – and there are some really fantastic moments. A class should never just follow a set format. Every client is different and a good teacher will adapt what they do to suit the needs of the singer, rather than the other way around. I like to start with a chat and then we do some warm-up exercises, which often turns into working on technique. Then we look at what we started last week which they have hopefully been practicing. This is the part where we can really get to grips with a song; think about the story, how to tackle harder sections and how to generally make it an interesting performance rather than just a series of words put to music.
