Hello my name is Eric. I have been playing percussion for over twenty years, and I still love it. My years playing music run the gambit of experiences from playing garage rock to performing in the symphony.
As a music educator I successfully taught for nine years in four school districts in West Texas. Some of my experiences included a seventh place finish in class 3A marching contest in 1998 with the Graham Romping Stomping Big Blue Band, and two consecutive sweepstakes b awards for the Graham Middle School Band. In 1998 the middle school band won the best in class award at the U.C.O. Band Festival.
As the high school band director in Electra, TX we earned honors at the area round of the Outstanding Performance Series.
As a member of the Cameron University Percussion Ensemble I played marimba, xylophone, vibes, tympani, and all the other percussion instruments. I was for fortunate to be the principal percussionist for most of that time.
I currently live in Austin where I play in country, rock, and blues bands. I have played on four records, and have toured nationally.
As a teacher I commit to teaching my students what they want to learn, and believe I am thoroughly prepared to help you soar. A principal once told me, "it is all about the kids." I use that as my guiding motivation today.
