Hello! My name is Forest and I've been a disciple of music for over 12 years. I started playing guitar/bass and writing songs when I was 14, and that's been a primary focus of my life ever since. I taught myself everything at first using guitar tablature. I learned how to read music throughout high school and played guitar, jazz bass, jazz drums, rock drums, drum set, percussion, and vibraphone in marching band and winter drumline at Mesa High School. After graduating I went to study guitar and music performance at Mesa Community College for 4 years. There I studied music theory, music history, and became proficient in guitar performance. I also learned Aural Perception, notation by ear, and how to play drums, piano/keyboard, and voice more proficiently. So I know how to play guitar, bass, piano, drums, and sing quite proficiently! I learned lots of classical and jazz techniques. I also have a TON of experience playing in rock bands, writing/recording music, booking shows, promoting shows, running shows, and touring! I've toured all over the US playing shows with a band from Phoenix called Sundressed, and I've played guitar and sang for them for over 6 years! I've also played guitar, drums, and sang with my band Adult Feelings for over 7 years. We've played tons of shows here in the valley. My most recent project was writing vocals and lyrics for a band called A Blackbird En Route. You can find all of our music on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Bandcamp, etc. Writing, recording, and performing live has always been a huge joy for me since I started playing music, and I have a TON of experience doing it. I've played hundreds of shows here in the valley, and across the US! Music is definitely something I'm extremely passionate about, and I'd be happy to share any of my experience with anyone who's willing to learn! I have the most experience teaching and playing guitar, but I'd be happy to teach bass, drums, piano, and vocals as well! I'm all about helping people learn what they want to learn, such as a song they really like or an artist they're really into! I enjoy music in all aspects, and the joy and emotion it brings into our lives. I hope to meet new folks soon and to share my knowledge and experience with anyone who's willing to learn! Sincerely, Forest

What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
My students can expect how to learn to record themselves and their own music! I have recorded all of my music myself on my personal I can teach the basics of DIY recording, as well as how to prepare for recording live and in the studio.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
I will definitely focus on lyrics and being natural with songwriting. We shouldn't emulate someone else's song directly, but rather we can use music we love as an influence for what we write. There's tons of different ways to write a song, and we will explore all of those techniques and options to find what works best for the student! We can also focus on writing instrumental pieces, and how to elaborate on them, as well as writing for multiple instruments or arranging a full band piece.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
With vocals, I prefer to only focus on any songs that the student wants to learn. We can go through basic intervals, aural perception, techniques, warming up, scales, etc. I primarily focus on rock vocals, and have a lot of experience singing live with bands!
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
Same as guitar, but we'll focus more on bass voice leading, and the role of bass in the band or music. We can explore different styles of music, and I can help them learn any songs they want to learn! Bass is the backbone of the band, and really fills out the music, giving support to instruments such as guitar and vocals. Drums and bass are very important together!
What to expect in my Drum Lessons
My students can expect to learn more about the instrument they're playing, as well as how to play songs or pieces they really enjoy and want to learn! We'll focus on the drums being one of the ultimate points of a piece or band. Dynamics, syncopation, rhythms, and different styles of beats. Again, I want to focus on any music that the student wants to! We'll explore different styles of drumming, and what makes drums so important. Tuning drums, pitch of drums, and different techniques.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
We will definitely focus on piano being the universal theory instrument. This means that any music major or musician should know how to play piano. It helps us learn music theory, and is a great way to see intervals of voicings in chords. We'll focus on technique, scales, types of scales, keys, and different styles of music.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
My students can expect to learn more about the instrument they're playing, as well as how to play songs or pieces they really enjoy and want to learn! They'll learn chords, voice leading, different variations of chords, and types of chords and scales, as well as keys and reading music. Ultimately I want to focus on whatever the student wants to focus on! I want it to be a fun experience that they'll enjoy.
