Hi, my name is Kasey and I am from Collegeville, PA. I have been a student of music for 15 years. In addition to my classical music background, I have experience as a band coach and songwriter at a Rock and Roll School. My teaching style varies according to the needs of my students and what their learning goals are. My teaching philosophy centers around the belief that, with the right teacher, all students are capable of learning music. In my lessons, you can expect to learn proper technique, musicality, personal expression, and literacy. My favorite thing about teaching is the exchange of knowledge with my students. I teach you what I know, and along the way, I learn what works best for each student. My students love that I try to incorporate their music tastes into my lessons. I primarily teach piano, songwriting, and voice, but I can also teach beginning guitar and ukulele. I take a personal approach to songwriting. I think process is just as important as what you are attempting to convey. That being said, process is unique to each individual, and it is important to determine what works for each student.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Regardless of genre, we will always begin by discussing proper technique so the student won't experience injury. It is important to discuss learning goals and genre preference at the beginning so I know what my students expect to learn. It is also important to make my expectations clear to ensure that they are a good fit. I usually prefer to cover a variety of genres to explore how to properly use the vocal cords across genres.
