Hi, my name is Joey and I am a Pianist/Organist from Chicago. I have been a student of music for 13 years. My musical influences include Bach, Chopin, Debussy and I also enjoy Mozart. My teaching style can best be described as efficient, challenging, and filled with laughs. In my lessons, you can expect to learn not only about how to play the piano but also music theory and also ear training. I like to tell my students to always practice and to be patient. My favorite thing about teaching is the look on a students face when they've understood a new or challenging concept. My favorite performance was my second piano recital where I played Beethoven's Sonata Op. 2 No. 1 in F minor. I was so nervous but played the best I ever have. My students love that I make jokes while I teach. I primarily teach Piano, but I can also teach Organ and Voice. My approach as a teacher is to always be kind and respectful.
