About Me

I have been playing guitar for 57 years, professionally for 54 years. I am a 4 time Daytime Emmy Award winning music composer for PBS, having produced and performed every track myself including all instruments. I am also the author of my own guitar instruction book, which is a teaching guide in my lessons and also a self-help manual, of which I have sold over 1700 copies on my own. I am a very very patient teacher and just want to make the student "get it!" Note: If I teach any female students under 18, I insist on an adult being present. Update 2021: Until the Covid thing is under control, I only teach virtually via Facetime or Zoom.

Paul S.- has over 56 years of music experience in the Westminster area.

What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

The same: To learn music theory first as opposed to learning to read music because learning to read or do math before learning 0-9 or A-Z is backwards. After learning the names of the scale tones and note names, the actual architecture of guitar playing will be started. If someone wants to just learn a few chords and do simple strumming, that's fine but they make that choice and I am the teacher so my interests are teaching the proper method and approach and that is why one goes to a teacher, not to tell the teacher what to teach, but to learn from a teacher like myself who has been playing professionally full time for 43 years!

What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Since I am a 4-time Daytime Emmy winning composer of instrumental and lyric based music with over 2oo songs on the internet, I pretty much know how to write a song! I receive royalties from over 30 organizations quarterly and am now semi-retired so I have the time and patience to teach.
