About Me

Leanna is available for at-home and online lessons and loves to teach students of all ages. She has been playing the flute for 16 years and is eager to share her knowledge and expertise of the instrument! Her passion and enthusiasm for teaching comes through in each lesson. She likes to tailor each lesson to the student's various interests in music and writes her own arrangement of songs according to each student's ability. Leanna has gained experience teaching group and private lessons of her own for the past 7 years. Leanna received her Master's Degree in Flute Performance from Northwestern University where she taught the non-major flute students and is currently pursuing a Performer's Certificate at Lynn Conservatory in Boca Raton, FL. She has won scholarships and awards for her performance. Leanna is excited to meet new students and help them create a plan for their success!

I have played in orchestras for 15 years and I am happy to share all that I know about orchestral playing! I can teach you about how to play in the appropriate style for each composer and how to play in a section. I will also teach you how to follow a conductor and how to listen in a way that will help you play more confidently!
