My name is Jon and I am a professional bass and guitar player. I am currently employed by the band Atomika, based here out of Reno. But I originally hail from New York where I achieved a Bachelor of Science in Jazz and Commercial Studies from Hofstra University. While at Hofstra, I studied upright and electric bass. In addition I studied Jazz and classical guitar with several accomplished players. Most of them are listed below. After I graduated, I taught guitar ensembles at The Greenvale School, along with teaching guitar and bass (upright and electric) privately and in-store at Music Emporium in Bellmore, NY.
In 2004, I relocated to the West Coast after being signed by Battleborn Records with my original band Greyscale. Over the past few years, I've been touring with original and cover bands. However, having 15 years of experience in one-on-one and ensemble lessons, I am looking to get back into the world of teaching.
