Darrin B.

Darrin began singing at the age of 6. His parents were gospel recording background singers for Lamar Campbell and Spirit of Praise. Over the years, he developed his skills further by attending performing arts schools and competing in yearly vocal and sight-reading competitions. He studied voice for 10 yrs under Ms. RoseMarie Gore Bigby of Interlochen Center for the Arts in northern Michigan. Under her tutelage, he maintained 1st place and Gold Medal status from the ISSMA Vocal Competition in both classical voice and sight reading categories. With gospel and rnb music being his roots, he gained performance experience through various concerts and workshops around the city of Indianapolis, IN. He has performed in venues such as The Madam CJ Walker Theatre, RCA Dome, Bankers Fieldhouse, and Lucas Oil Stadium and with acts such as Fantasia and Lamar Campbell. Though Darrin can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are Kim Burrell and Tank, which had great influence on his style in singing. Darrin loves music because it empowers and encourages so many people and loves teaching music because it allows him to share the gift of song with the leaders of tomorrow.
