Melodee has always loved music from an early age. She began playing piano at the age of three and continued her education at Virginia State University. Her musical influences include the band Earth, Wind, and Fire, PJ, Morton, Miles Davis, Esperanza Spalding, just to name a few. Melodee's favorite thing about music is that music is life and that it is universal among many nations. Her favorite thing about teaching music is that people still appreciate the love of music. One of her favorite teaching experiences was teaching student the Bb scale and because they learned that scale, they thought outside the box to learn other scales.
