Ben has always loved music from an early age. He began playing piano at the age of 7, and trumpet at age 10 and continued his education by taking private lessons until high school. In college he took lessons on piano for 4 semesters and trumpet for 7 years. His musical influences include Michael Sachs Trumpet Adolf Bud Herseth Trumpet, Wynton Marsalis Trumpet, Sean Jones Trumpet Jack Schantz Trumpet, Beethoven Piano, Herbie Hancock Piano Mitsuko Uchida Piano. Ben's favorite thing about music is creating a positive image of what the music represents in his/ his students' performances, and his favorite thing about teaching music is helping students see the aspects of performing music and how it affects daily life in many ways. One of his favorite teaching experiences was teaching private lessons at a local high school and also teaching marching band as an assistant director.
