Hi, my name is Kelvin. I am a contemporary, and also opera singer from Minnetonka, MN. I have been a student of music since I started playing the french horn at Tanglen Elementary School in 4th grade. I then learned my senior year of high school that I had a knack for singing! I ended up graduating from Luther College with a degree in vocal performance. Everyone is unique in their singing styles, so I will accommodate you on whatever you want to learn, whether it be pop music, musical theatre, or opera. I don't beeve that a singer has to stick to one style in order to be successful. If you want to primarily study opera but also want to bring something that you heard on the radio in, I will work on it with you. In my voice lessons, you can expect to learn all about how your singing mechanism works, primarily through breathing, posture, and grounding. As musicians, our ves are never boring because we're always doing what we love! My favorite thing about teaching is that I get to learn alongside you! In fact, I still take voice lessons every week because you never stop learning new things, and that's the most exciting part. My most memorable musical experience would be touring Germany and the Czech Repubc as a part of The Nordic Choir after I graduated from Luther College. I want to be able to help you create experiences that you can be proud of whether it be impressing your friends at the open mic night or on stage in a full opera production. I beeve that communication is extremely important in lessons, so I will always ask you if are comfortable with the breathing and posture techniques that I apply in my teachings handed down from my own teachers.
