13 Years
Jake began his first year of band in the 5th grade, and had the saxophone as his chosen instrument. To much surprise, Jake ended up being asked to join the high school jazz band his first year playing, and that same year, he was asked to be used as an example of a child who knows how to improvise. The seminar was intended for band teachers, and music professors to have a better understanding of how to teach improvisation, and the seminar was put on by alto saxophonist Russ Peterson. Throught his career, he has also trained with alto saxophonist Brian Grivina, and tenor saxophonist Kenny Holman. Jake is skilled in a wide variety of styles of music, and continues to grow, and develop, and inspire each day, while crossing musical barriers.
