About Me

Hi, my name is Kyle! I'm a pianist, composer, and singer from Dallas, TX. I have been a student of music for over 17 years. My musical influences include John Williams, Michael Giacchino, Alan Menken, and John Powell. Favorite pop artists currently are Demi Lovato, Troye Sivan, Bruno Mars, Sia, and Sam Smith. I also listen to a cappella music by groups like Pentatonix, the Dartmouth Aires, and the Princeton Footnotes, along with several film and musical theater soundtracks. I enjoy learning about other people's music tastes too so I can customize my lessons for you! Just let me know what kind of music you enjoy performing or listening to, and I'd be happy to craft a special lesson or two around your favorite artists. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing when a new idea clicks for someone else. That's pure magic to me. What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce

Beginner - Intermediate

As an active film and television composer in Los Angeles, I am well versed in music production and sound recording techniques and procedures. Students can expect overviews of music technology categories microphones, speakers, Digital Audio Workstations, etc, as well as practical, hands-on techniques for micing instruments, recording performances, working with MIDI, and audio mixing.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

As a classically trained pianist with several years of experience as a church piano accompanist, I am well versed in many genres of keyboard playing. Students can expect to learn everything from basic posture to advanced sight-reading and lead sheet jazz improvisation skills depending on age and skill level.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

Students can expect a variety of vocal exercises and techniques to help expand their range and confidence levels in performance. Breathing and posture are the key elements to build on towards more advanced concepts like phrasing, storytelling, and vocal colors.

Formal Education:

I've taught group music lessons to children at Kidville in Dallas for summer camp programs.

Performing Experience:

I have sung in award-winning a cappella groups. I've accompanied and sang in Church choirs for over seven years. I've performed at several Dallas Mavericks games and I even got to sing for all five living US Presidents at the opening of the George W. Bush Library at SMU in Dallas!
