Johnnie has always loved music from an early age. He began playing/singing professionally at the age 16 of and continued his education by studying music at Norfolk State University. His musical influences include Roland Hayes, Lawrence Brownlee, Nat King Cole, and Smokey Robinson. Johnnie's favorite thing about music is the freedom of expression it provides and his favorite thing about teaching music is seeing students find themselves within their craft. One of his favorite teaching experiences was working with my church’s music ministry as a praise & worship leader. When taking lessons with Johnnie you can expect that you will have that freedom to find what you want out of your growth as a musician.
