Kayla began playing the cello at the age of twelve and is currently studying in the College of Music at the University of North Texas. Over the years, she developed her skills further by participating in several orchestras that toured throughout the United States and internationally. She gained performance experience in the area of string playing by studying with internationally renowned cello and music teachers, performing as a soloist, as well as in small ensembles. Though Kayla can teach many genres of music, her musical personal favorites are classical, which had great influence on her style of playing.Kayla loves music because it is a great medium to communicate through and loves teaching music because of the profound joy that comes with music making. What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Explore the piano keys, scales, progressions, and songs working way up to integrating music theory, playing with both hands, and reading sheet music while playing while having fun.
What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
Learn a string instrument while also having fun! Lessons start by exploring and becoming familiar with the instrument, learning where to place the fingers, and how to play songs. Often the Suzuki method is introduced to guide song progression and improve listening and playing skills. Intermediate and advanced players can expect to work on technical, musical, and expression skills by playing various repertoire. Students can also received help with school orchestra material, region orchestra auditions, and can expect to have yearly recitals.
