Hi, my name is Salome and I am a performance and music educator from Greensboro, North Carolina and I currently live in Henderson, North Carolina. I have been a student of music for 29 years. My musical influences include Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, Hubert Laws, MeShell Ndegeo Cello and I also enjoy writing poetry. My teaching style can best be described as laid back, serious, and fun. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I teach the students whom wish to learn the creativity of their musical universe. In my lessons, you can expect to learn music theory, ear training, rhythmic patterns, scales, breath control, and concert etiquette. I like to tell my students to practice, apply, and have fun. My favorite thing about teaching is a student's response to accomplishing a set goal. My favorite performance was Janelle Monae at the Ritz in Raleigh, North Carolina. My students love that I care about them learning, retaining, and applying musical concepts. I primarily teach saxophone, but I can also teach flute, clarinet, and piano. My approach as a teacher is to provide a safe space for growing and expressing musical talents in the classroom and in front of an audience. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
