Taylor, a horn player of 15 years, earned her bachelor’s degree in horn performance from the University of Kansas in 2015 where she performed with the KU Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Horn Ensemble, as well as a wide variety of chamber groups. While at KU she performed at many prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City. In 2013 she performed with the Eutiner Oper Festspiele in Eutin, Germany where she played alongside professional musicians from all around the world. She recently completed her master’s degree in horn performance from the University of Oklahoma where she performed with the OU Symphony Orchestra, Hornsemble, and the Graduate Woodwind Quintet. Taylor has had always had a love for music and hopes to be able to share that with her students! What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
When I approach a lesson, whether the student is a beginner or advanced, I always stress the importance of musicality. It has been my experience that all too often accuracy of pitch, intonation, and technicality are becoming more important than the reason someone picks up an instrument in the first place: to make music! I am a firm believer that with musicality comes technicality. Most importantly, I want my students to be having fun and to be engaged. Playing any instrument can be a frustrating experience for anyone and I hope that I will be able to make approaching the horn enjoyable for my students!
