Hi, my name is Dava and an heir to the Ohio Funk legacy. I have been a student of music for over 30 years. My musical influences include Prince, Aretha Franklin Whitney Houston, Gladys Knight, Anita Baker, Fred Hammond, and my late father Maestro Delbert of the Ohio funk band SLAVE. I enjoy a wide variety of music from Rock n Roll to Gospel.. My teaching style can best be described as fun yet challenging. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I work smart, not hard. In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to breath, diction, sight reading, harmony and stage performing. I like to tell my students if you want it then you can get it. My favorite thing about teaching is passing on my knowledge. My favorite performance was Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar. My students love that I look young and know how to talk with them on their levels. I primarily teach vocal, but I can also teach light piano.
