Hi, my name is Matthew, and I am a 29 year old from Oklahoma City, Ok. I currently play guitar at LifeChurch Moore and have played at various other churches in the area. I taught at Norman Institute of Music for 4 years, but after recieving a B.A. in history I left to pursue a career in classroom education. I have been a student of music for over ten years. My musical influences include everything from Vivaldi to Guns and Roses to J Cole and I also enjoy every other type of music. My teaching style can best be described as conversational and relaxed, but effective, and heavy with curriculum implemenataion. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I you get out what you put in. In my lessons, you can expect to learn whatever it is that interests you and gets you excited about music. I primarily teach guitar, but I can also teach bass. My experience as a 4th grade homeroom teacher has taught me to help you find your passion and encourage you in a non-judgmental environment. What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
I specialize in all pop, rock and indie music! Students should expect to learn the sounds and voicings of contemporary electric guitar. I am located just north of downtown Oklahoma City in the historic Aberdeen apartment complex placed in the beautiful Heritage Hills neighborhood. I offer a carefree, but informative environment for teaching that focuses on your particular interests, and if you like coffee, I'll make us some! Thank You! Have a great day!

Guitar Lessons for our Fourth Grader
Our son got a guitar for Christmas last year, and we were having trouble finding a guitarist to provide lessons. We stumbled upon Taylor Robinson Music Lessons through a Google Search and we are so glad we did! Matt is doing excellent with our fourth grade son. He is patient and communicates well with our son I think his teaching history helps a lot with that. Our son is already playing chords and practicing well and we are only on our 3rd half hour lesson. Matt takes his time, sets up practice work, never rushes the process, and checks in during the week through text to see if we have any questions or need help with practice.
