15 Years
Hi, my name is Drew and I am a musician from Austin, TX. I attended The University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a BA in Music Production. Currently, I tour internationally with a band called The Oh Hellos. I like to cater my teaching style to each individual student. What makes sense to one student, may not make sense to another, so it's my job to figure out how to communicate with each student effectively. In my lessons, you can expect to learn technique and theory, all relating to the styles of music your playing. Whether we're learning Nirvana or Andrés Segovia, I believe it's important to dissect each song and figure out why we like it. I primarily teach guitar and electric bass guitar. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
Drew G. has over 15 years of music experience in the Austin area.

What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
I like to spend a bit of time on practical warm-ups. These aren't always exciting, but they're so important. We want to make sure our hands can do what our brain wants! Next, I like to do a little theory lesson. As musicians, it's important that we can speak the "language" of music. Finally, we work on a song that the student has chosen. Beyond just learning how to play the song, we look at why we like the song. It could be the chord changes, or the melody, or the tone of the guitar, but I think learning "how" AND "why" is crucial to a musician's growth.
