2 Years
Hi, my name is Jacob and I am a bass player from Chandler. I have been a student of music for 10 years. My musical influences include jazz and classical music and I also enjoy contemporary hip-hop & modern jazz. My teaching style can best be described as flexible. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I am a lifelong student myself, so I preach what I practice. In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to improve yourself. I like to tell my students the only difference between them and a professional is time. My favorite thing about teaching is sharing what I am passionate about and helping people. My favorite performance was my set at the Reno Jazz Festival in April 2018. My students love that I make difficult concepts easy to understand. I primarily teach improvisational jazz on an upright bass, but I can also teach any style of music on upright bass or bass guitar. My approach as a teacher is to inspire passion and curiosity in my students. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
