About Me
Hi, my name is Aaron and I am a Guitarist from Cleveland, Ohio. I have been a student of music for 15 years. My classic rock musical influences include The Rolling Stones and The Beatles and I also enjoy music that is not known to most such as underground metal and rock. My teaching style can best be described as both lead and rhythm using a pick. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I strive to encourage rather than discourage my students and believe in solutions rather than setbacks. I also understand the building blocks for becoming a great guitarist. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the parts of the guitar, the fundamentals of strumming and double picking, scales, notes, chords and full songs from start to finish. I like to tell my students to prepare for a very beneficial lesson. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing how my students progress with their instrumental abilities. My favorite performance was Tran-Siberian Orchestra when they came to Cleveland, Ohio. My students love that I put their needs first. I primarily teach rock and metal, but I can also teach classical, blues, and alternative. My approach as a teacher is to provide as much educational experience as possible without overloading my students with information right at the get-go. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

I understand that every student is an individual, with personal musical needs and goals. I make it a priority to tailor how I teach and what I teach to the individual needs of each student. I teach all styles from rock, metal, pop, country, worship, blues and classical. I combine the important fundamentals with the music YOU want to play. If you'll have me as a guitar teacher, I will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child. Together, we will develop a plan to achieve your goals! I love beginners, so even if you don't know where to begin, I can help! Thank you.

What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

The first thing we will do is take a step back and prepare a musical idea. We'll ask ourselves, what is this idea communicating? What emotions it does express? What feeling you want the listener to feel? The structure of a song is the way in which its sections have been arranged, usually with repetition, to create the total work. An appropriate song structure will create an effective musical experience for the listener, and two main aspects should be considered. 1. Balance of Repetition and Variety-Repeating sections is a good way to build the familiarity of your musical themes, but too much feels limited and quickly becomes stale. Different sections should contrast with each other, while still sounding compatible. 2. Musical Dynamic of the Whole Song-You are telling a story, even with instrumental music. Create a sense of anticipation that builds to a satisfying conclusion as the song unfolds, with each section drawing the listener strongly to the next. Keeping these key structures in mind, my student and I will create any song structure that seems to fit their musical ideas. Other things that my students and I will go over during this teaching process-Music theory, composition, main instruments, lead instruments, background instruments, and vocalization.
