Hi, my name is Brett and I am a guitarist and bassist from Las Vegas. I have been a student of music for 35 years. My musical influences are diverse, and all-inclusive genre wise. My teaching style can best be described as student centered. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I focus on each students' needs. In my lessons, you can expect to learn exactly what you need to accomplish whatever your goals may be. I like to tell my students that practice is key, but the practice is fun! My favorite thing about teaching is seeing the musicians my students become. I primarily teach guitar and bass, but I can also teach songwriting/arranging as well as studio recording. I have taken a few music courses at the collegiate level, though I do hold a BS in Finance and a Masters in Business Management.
Private Education:
I took lessons at Hogan's Music in 1987.
Performing Experience:
I began playing out live in 1993, and by 1994 (at age 14) I was able to make money playing. I decided to make performing my full time career in 2007, and have performed over 300 times per year since.
Experience Teaching:
I began teaching out of my parents' house in 1996. From there I went to a few different local music stores, and taught there for 4 years before branching out on my own again. I spent a few years giving mobile lessons as well before taking a brief sabbatical.
