My name is Kevin, I am a current music teacher at Moss Park Elementary, where I have taught since 2016. I am a Brass Player who loves a lot of different genres of music and try to give students a secure understanding of different musical knowledge, to be successful at their craft. A solid foundation leads to a strong understanding, and sometimes we make mistakes along the way. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education degree at the University of Central Florida with additional coursework in elementary music. While at UCF I was a part of the many musical ensembles available and performed with the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic and Concert Bands. Since graduating I have continued performing in different venues including Disney Encore and have played in their musicals at the Dr. Phillips Center including Aida and Ragtime. I have also performed with Vero Beach Chamber Orchestra and recently have joined Central Florida Community of the Arts. In the classroom I have taught and developed my students musical knowledge and ability through activities with movement, singing, and instruments. We have worked on learning correct techniques at various instruments and singing, reading rhythms, reading staff notation, and using and learning correct music vocabulary and other musical elements. I have directed many school performances, that include grade level, family nights, and holiday sing-alongs. During these performances I would have the students sing, move, play instruments and have audience participation available so that parents and staff can be involved in the performance. I direct an after music program with 60+ students, available for 3rd-5th grade to explore and advance their music abilities and put on performances using recorders, singing, movement and Orff instruments. My teaching styles is to always have a back-up plan and to adjust my methods in order to help the students be successful. By presenting content using different modalities, each student is able to experience the information that best fits their learning needs. This is vital to a successful and productive learning environment. I have assisted with high school programs brass sections including, Vero Beach High School, Sebastian River High School and Lake Nona High School. For the past six years, I have been a member of the Florida Music Educators Association and attend the conference each year. I have earned my Level I Orff Certification with Gretchen Wahlberg Sandy Lantz, and Patrick Ware. I have become a member of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association and attended their National Conference. These memberships have allowed me to gain professional development in my field and make some great connections. The community that is created within these associations is vital for the success of music teachers. I am excited about the opportunities to teach your student and have them learn, grow, and explore their instrument. I am willing to provide further information upon request. Thank you for your consideration.

Excellent! Highly recommend!
My son began taking lessons from Mr in Mr’s instruction has been professional and fun. He has really helped my son excel in a short time. My son went on to get a superior rating in Middle School Solo and Ensemble last in 2017 and 2018 as well as audition for and get 3rd chair in All County this year! He has natural talent but the quality instruction and encouragement he receives is invaluable to his growth! I can’t say enough and highly recommend my teacher!
