Brenna H.

American singer songwriter and musician Brenna engages her audiences with a soulful, rich voice and alternative twist on modern day pop music. She began her performing career at age 15 on the local bar scene, singing and playing original songs on both piano and guitar, and discovered her passion for performing. At age 16, she won first place in the annual Texas High School Rock off Battle of the Bands held at the House of Blues as the only solo performer competing against seven other bands. She has gone on to perform at large venues such as Warehouse Live, House of Blues, and Fitzgerald’s. She performs annually at Springboard South Music Festival, and performs solo gigs at venues such as CITYCENTRE, Houston Center Downtown, and Macy's. She has developed and flourished as a musician and songwriter through her membership in the Nashville Songwriters Association International NSAI where she was a featured songwriter in the round, National Association of Record Industry Professionals NARIP where she connects with other musicians and industry professionals, and GoGirls Music where she has been inspired by other accomplished female artists to pursue her dream. She has studied vocal performance under highly regarded vocalist Jane Vandiver of Star Singer Studios, and currently studies under the department of vocal performance at Baylor University. She studies piano composition under Ann Witherspoon and has studied songwriting with Grammy award winner Jeff Franzel. Brenna has completed two recording projects, the first being her first three original singles on iTunes and Spotify recorded by Buzz Smith in the summer of 2013. The second recording project was inspired when Brenna’s current band project, the “Brenna Trio” was discovered by the film group “Blue Glass Videography” to do a music video. The group’s release of their first single and music video together, “Grown Up and Gone”, gained sufficient traction and inspired the making of their EP titled “Sketches”, recorded at Direct Resonance Studios in Waco, Texas. “Sketches”, completed in the spring of 2015, is comprised of all original music written by Brenna, and was released in September of 2015 on iTunes, Spotify, and CDbaby. Currently, the group is active, performing in various venues in Waco including Common Grounds, The Downtown Farmers Market, Hippodrome stage, and Tea2go, as well as venues in Houston including BFE Rock club, Vintage Pub, Avante Garden, and more. With their mission of remaining true to organic and raw music through their lively, unique sound and acoustic instrumentation, the Trio plans to promote their EP and continue writing and performing together.
