Renee has always loved music from an early age. She began singing and playing the clarinet at the age of 10 and continued her education by getting private lessons. Renee won many awards in High School and went on to sing in the Women's Chorus and Jazz Chorus in College. She also sang for weddings as a soloist and in ensembles. Renee performed in a Children's Entertainment Duo. Recently she is the Lead Singer for a Rock/Pop/Blues Band and was a member of an International Female Barbershop Chorus who has competed in Las Vegas. Renee has taken voice lessons from the famous Jazz Singer Janet Planet. Renee's favorite thing about music is how healing it can be for people, and her favorite thing about teaching music is when students light up and it all clicks and their confidence soars. One of her favorite teaching experiences was teaching music therapy to my Autism clients. When taking lessons with Renee you can expect a very relaxed and fun lesson with encouragement. What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
I will seek to understand what it is they want to work on and their goals. They can expect to learn how to warm up their instrument properly. Also techniques on breathing and clarity, etc. Later in the lessons I will touch on bringing the feeling out of each performance or song and reaching every audience member.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Beginner -
I mainly will focus on song structure, a hook, and lyric writing.
Formal Education:
Renee is a certified teacher and has worked with all age groups including persons with exceptional qualities and disabilities.
Private Education:
Private Voice lessons from International quartet barbershop directors and Jazz Vocalist Janet Planet.
Performing Experience:
Lead Singer Rock/Pop/Blues band, Lead singer in Sweet Adeline's International Chorus, Clarinet performances with Community band, Wedding soloist and ensemble. High school and College honors for music.
Experience Teaching:
All ages for Vocal and Clarinet.
