Emily is a recent Drake University graduate, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Cello Performance. She started playing piano in 3rd grade and cello in 5th. The best part about teaching lessons is watching students grow as musicians and learn new skills. Ms. believes that every student should learn at their own pace and reinforces ideas using different methods. Music lessons should be enjoyable and students should look forward to coming every week.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Students can expect to learn about different genres such as classical, blues, and pop music. I encourage students to practice from the method books as well as bring music they particularly want to learn. Lessons are individualized and materials covered vary. The goal is not perfection, but steady improvement.
What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Students can expect to learn standard rep as well as learn practice techniques. Learning how to effectively practice is just as important as learning the notes. Repertoire is picked based on skill level and techniques that need improving upon. The goal is to not only learn the notes, but solve problems and keep striving for the best sound.
