Jordanna M.

Originally from the Sunny state of California, Jordanna holds a Bachelors Degree in Bassoon Music Performance BM and a Masters Degree in Bassoon Music Performance MM from Arizona State University ASU in Tempe, Arizona. Jordie moved to Arizona and willingly became a desert rat in the valley, leaving the beaches of San Diego, specifically to study bassoon with Dr. Albie Micklich. Early on, Jordie joined the 6th grade beginning band on alto saxophone at Lewis Middle School. By request of the band director, Leroy Lane, she switched to bassoon at the end of that year, with a promise of being able to audition for the Jazz band on sax, but it was love at first note. The bassoon became her primary instrument and she began studying privately with Danette White. She made a promise to herself to continue to study music. Jordie has performed in the Concert of Soloists/Concerto Competitions, Woodwind area/Showcase Concerts, numerous concerts with the Wind Orchestra and Orchestra at Grady Gammage and has performed four solo recitals as a student at ASU. Jordie gigs around the Phoenix area, teaches private lessons and works in various music-centered organizations. Her most recent position is working at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, Arizona. In the future, Jordie wants to perform and manage music in a way that fulfills her. Her ultimate goal is to open her own music venue. It is her vision that one day the world will experience the marriage of the arts.
