About Me

Alicia is a professional flutist living and working in the northern Colorado area. In addition to being an enthusiastic private flute instructor, she enjoys performing in chamber ensembles and orchestras throughout the region, such as the pit orchestra at the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse in Johnstown, Colorado. Alicia recently graduated with a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from the University of Northern Colorado (2017). She earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance at Central Washington University (2015) in the heart of her home state. At both universities, she performed as Principal flutist in the top ensembles, including orchestras and wind ensembles, and was regularly featured on piccolo in each ensemble. Alicia’s principal teachers include Dr. James Hall, professor of flute at the University of Colorado, Dr. Hal Ott, professor of flute at Central Washington University, Mrs. Rae Terpenning, former piccoloist of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, and Ms. Brook Ferguson, principal flutist of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Alicia has performed in masterclasses with several prominent flutists including Robert Dick, Nina Assimakopoulos, Conor Nelson, Philip Dikeman, and Erin Murphy. Alicia spends her summers coaching flute at the Sounds of Summer Music Festival in Mount Vernon, Washington and at CWU’s Band Camp in Ellensburg, Washington.
