Philip has always loved music from an early age. He began playing piano and drums at the age of 10 and continued his education by attending Texas Southern University as a Trumpet performance major. His musical influences include Miles Davis, Wynton Marsalis, and Rafeal Mendez. Philip's favorite thing about music is the feeling that comes over a person when a song evokes emotions that a person may not have thought music could induce and his favorite thing about teaching music is the look on a students face when discovering the same things I have discovered and allow myself to continue to learn each and everyday. One of his favorite teaching experiences was teaching a 5 year old piano and he couldn't get into the chair so he called it an animal chair because they are always running away.
