Hi, my name is Burt and I am a musician from Washington D.C. I have been a student of music for 13 years. My musical influences include Wynton Marsalis, James Morrison, Maynard Ferguson, George Duke,Greg Phillinganes, David Benoit, and many many more. I also enjoy all types of music. My teaching style can best be described as hands on and patient. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying "A strong foundation makes a powerful structure." In my lessons, you can expect to grasp a strong concept of the fundamentals and use those tools to build and grow as a musician. I like to tell my students "Perfect makes Perfect PmP." My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students grow into prominent and professional musicians. My favorite performance was with Tom Browne at Blues Alley. My students love that I am patient with them and that we grow and learn together. I primarily teach Trumpet and Piano, but I can also teach Music Theory as well.
