1 Years
I have been playing guitar for over ten years, and have performed in a variety of acts in the New Jersey and Philadelphia Area. In addition, I perform as a bassist in two Philadelphia groups and performs with an ukulele in my solo work. I have studied with classical guitarist Brad Rau, fingerstyle acoustic guitarist Trevor Gordon Hall, and electric guitarist Aaron Ribnicky. My influences range from indie rock and punk to jazz and folk, and everywhere in between.
Ryan S. has over 1 years of music experience in the Philadelphia area.

What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
My Bass lessons have a focus on the fundamental role of the bass as the link between harmony and rhythm. This means that I make sure students have a strong foundation in playing simply and steadily before we expand and start looking at the more intricate elements of bass guitar. I feel that this is an extremely essential element of bass performance that many technically gifted players lack, and try to instill in students that bass guitar has to be a team player in to its job.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Students can expect to learn from me with a fun, easygoing approach that plays off of what the student wants to learn. I am interested in and focused on making sure my students have good technique and a large body of knowledge, but I know too that this has to come from them, not me--So I try to take the songs and styles they want to learn and use it as a springboard for broader topics. For example, a song that uses a suspended chords might lead to discussion of how suspensions work and what the writer may have been thinking when they used it.
