What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
Introduction to the gear and software of choice you will need to start your own recording project! The basics will cover: acoustics, how sound interacts with it's environment and how to use that to your advantage, types of microphones, their common applications, and popular mic makes and models.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Songwriting focus will cover several topics such as lyrics (brevity, picking accurate and precise words; poetic elements, like following formulas and creating rhymes; ability to write relatable lyrics is emphasized) and song structure (verse/chorus).
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
Proper technique and fingering is key. Knowledge of scales, rhythm, and chords is fundamental. I will occasionally play along with drum beats as a means of building the skills of writing and improvising bass lines. Identifying your favorite bassists and real song examples of bass techniques will make the lessons a breeze!
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Every student will get their own unique, tailored experience depending on their goals. With beginners, we typically cover basic chords and scales at first. We can move into light music theory, covering how to read time signatures and recognizing common rock and pop chord progressions. Students are encouraged to bring in and play songs to build the skills of learning by ear and playing in time with others-very useful in a live jam setting-while also getting a feel for the taste and preferred style of the student.
