Hi! My name is Megan and I can’t wait to be your teacher! Music has always been an important part of my life. To be able to share my love for it, is a big part of my passion for teaching. I took a break from getting my degree in music education because I had a baby! My daughter is almost two and I can’t wait to finish my degree. I have a full time job, so my availability is based off that, but I am flexible so please feel free to request sessions with me and we can set times up for lessons together. I can’t wait to meet you!
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
I build my curriculum around each individual student. When a student comes to their first lesson, we will assess their knowledge of music and work our way up! We will also determine what the students wants to get out of the lesson, whether they want to just learn beginner piano or learn how to play Beethoven! Basic music theory is always a part of my lessons because I believe it’s important to understand the music you are performing. I can also teach beginners how to read music if they do not know.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
I build my curriculum around each individual student. When students come to their first lesson, they should come prepared with 2 songs that best represent their voice style. If the student doesn't know which songs to sing, they can either come to their lesson and we will figure it out together, or they can pick 2 songs that they just like to sing. Once the students voice style(s) is determined, then we start from the bottom of their musical knowledge and work our way up! I always ask the student what they want to get out lessons, whether it’s to sing their favorite song for their loved ones, or become a professional singer! Basic music theory is always a part of my lessons because I believe it’s important to understand the music you are performing. I can also teach beginners how to read music if they do not know.
Formal Education:

Experience Teaching:
I taught a young lady how to play the piano for 1 year when I was a senior in high school. I had given voice and beginner piano lessons for 2 years before I took a break to be a mom.
