About Me
Hey there people! The name's Preston! I'm a 27-year-old San Diego native and local artist/instructor that has been singing and performing basically since infancy. After humming Pavarotti in my car seat and then later appearing on a popular TV program, I became classically trained as a tenor and began singing Italian opera arias for concert recitals at age 9. After doing this for several years I moved on and started to create my own music projects. Since then, I have not only performed on national television but have also sung and performed with world-renowned artists, as well as having solo performed the national anthem for multiple professional and semi-professional sporting events. Throughout this entire time I have greatly expanded my repertoire of music and can honestly say that I am a true fan of all music and genres. I also happen to love teaching and as an instructor I sincerely believe that each and every student of any age has the ability to sing and write beautiful music. If you are open-minded, willing to work hard, and most importantly that you are passionate about the song you're working on, then they SKY IS THE LIMIT. Anyhow, I could sit here and type for hours but I just wanted to share a bit about myself and my background and why I love to do what I do. Have an awesome day and hope to be teaching you soon!

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

Students should expect to be in a relaxed learning environment where they can learn to sing and train their voice at their own pace. Students can also expect to learn and understand music in a more unorthodox way by advanced ear training methods that are incorporated into the lesson while I teach. (If you can learn to go by ear then you can always stay in tune while singing without the need of sheet music) We will begin the lesson by going over basic breathing techniques followed by warm up singing to strengthen and prepare the vocal chords. (PLEASE NOTE: Not every student will have the same amount of time for warmup exercises because every student is different and my goal is NOT to rush you through a lesson, rather it's to make you BETTER!) After warmup we will begin learning songs of the students choice. However if I have a song in mind that I believe will match the students range and skills then I may assign music for those projects at a later lesson. There are certain songs that really bring out the complexity of an individuals voice and that's because everyone has a different sound and a different genre/song that can bring out the best in their abilities. Lessons will be thorough but not complex, laid back, informative, and most importantly fun. The whole point is to learn and to get better and coaching is the best way to improve and stay good as a vocalist. Overall, I am going to teach you how to sing like a pro and like a rockstar lol.
