I have prided myself on being able to adjust lessons according to the student's goals. With a vast academic musical training in different styles, we can focus on just learning specific tunes, improving technique and/or dive into the world of musical theory, jazz, sight reading, improvisation and ear training if the student is ready to take on harder goals.
Alexianne M.- has over 5 years of music experience in the Seattle area.
Alexianne M.- is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Song Writing Lessons .Degree and Field of Study:
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
My piano students can rest assured that their understanding of sight reading, time signatures and overall musical feel will be the main goals of our lessons. If the student desires to go a little further and incorporate scales, chord structures and basic concepts of musical theory and harmony to improve their abilities as a soloist, there are a variety of ways to approach these musical concepts.
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
Growing up in Puerto Rico, we pride ourselves on our sense of rhythm and groove. Understanding "la clave", bossanova vernacular and syncopated rhythms found in Salsa and Bomba, these elements can be incorporated to improving our walking bass skills in the jazz genre, to solidifying our sense of time and feel in different genres like Funk and Rock. Slap bass and tapping techniques are included in my repertoire, all with the same goal of improving and solidifying our internal rhythm and further our understanding of the role of the bass in contemporary music.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
The student can expect different approaches to solidify technique, understanding of chords in different keys, improving rhythm, even increasing knowledge of scales if the student desires to improve their improvisation skills and soloing ability.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
From experimenting with different melodic and rhythm motifs, analyzing contemporary song structures, the goal is to widen our musical palate and be able to draw from different techniques like modal interchange to add more harmonic complexity to our songs, helping the composer regain control of their compositions and be able to achieve the musical goals one has established for themselves
