Danny Pi

    My name is Danny and I have been playing the guitar since 1987. I began playing guitar out of inspiration of my grandfather, who is a bluegrass guitarist. I was 11 years old at the time that I began playing guitar, "Hair Rock" music was at its climax, and MTV portrayed the glamorous highlights of what it was to be a living "Guitar Hero". I was literally spellbound and consumed by wanting to achieve that sort of "Guitar Hero" success. So I began practicing, and practicing, and practicing... By the time I turned 20, I had played in numerous bands, and had learned so much. As time moved forward, I realized that playing the guitar is much more than fast Rock n Roll lead riffs. Playing the guitar has unlimited avenues for which its player can choose to go down. I began learning several different styles of guitar, including Blues, Jazz, Classical, Funk, Gospel, R & B, Bluegrass, Country, etc... I started to realize a fact of guitar playing that many miss out on; a guitar player can develop his/her own style of playing. My playing started to become less mechanical (robot-like), and more heart-felt (original). I was finally happy with my guitar playing ability. 

    It was around this time that I began teaching guitar, and learning a lot more from it. I still teach today, and play in a Christian worship band. All in all, I have chalked up several years of experience both teaching and playing the guitar, and I am proud to have that experience.
