I'm currently studying jazz trumpet at UMKC, I've taught from middle school age students through high school age before, but am comfortable teaching all ages. I was section leader in marching band, and have played in various community and private ensembles, both professionally and educationally.
Jackson B. has over 4 years of music experience in the Kansas City area.
Jackson B. is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Song Writing Lessons, Orchestral Lessons .Degree and Field of Study:
Award Name:
What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
I have studied classical trumpet for ten years now, performed onstage at symphony halls around the Midwest, and am very enthusiastic about teaching aspiring young brass players.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Song writing is a marriage of music theory and personal expression, two of what I consider to be the most important aspects of music. Students and I will delve into what makes a good song good and use this to further the students own writing
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
I think a firm grasp of theory is essential when approaching the piano, as well as a firm grounding in the fundamentals of the instrument. where the lessons go from there depends on the desires of the student
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
I'm a relatively laid back instructor, but I believe in the importance of understanding the fundamentals of how music works as well as a working relationship with your instrument. We'll work on standards, as well as whatever the student might be interested in.
