About Me

Heidieis an established Singer/Songwriter based out of Chicago, IL. Often compared to artists such as Adele, and Kelly Clarkson, her sound is captivating, classic, and powerful. Her most recent project was the release of her debut EP, No Love Like Our Love, that she co-produced with top engineer/producer Chris Steinmetz of Stonecutter Records in Chicago, IL. His credits have included artists such as Kanye West, Twista, and Paul Simon to name a few.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Heidie teaches beginning students for piano. In your lesson, you can expect to learn key signatures, time signatures, major and minor scales, and various warm up exercises to get your fingers "ready to play". Simple songs are assigned, and depending on the students progress, chords and other scale modes may be introduced.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner -

Vocal lessons are tailored to a student's individual needs. For beginners, you may expect to spend a lot of time on proper breathing techniques, and various ear training exercises. For the more advanced students, exercises and techniques are introduced according to areas that may need improvement. This could be anything from vocal range, rhythm, diction (how you pronounce the words), tone, and even stage presence and mic technique. Songs are usually assigned to challenge the student to reach their individual goals.

Formal Education:

Heidie received her Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Urban and Popular Music from Columbia College Chicago, with a focus on vocal performance, songwriting, production, and music business.

Private Education:

Heidie started private voice lessons when she was 12 years old. With over 20 years of private study, she has made it a point to learn from mentors of both classical and contemporary styles, making her a very well rounded and versatile vocalist. While attending Columbia, she continued to grow as a performer, studying under several notable musicians including Typhanie Monique, Chuck Webb, Gary Yerkins, and Nicholas Tremulis. She also has had the honor of performing with Grammy award winning Paula Cole, Jim Lauderdale, Todd Rundgren and Charlie Sexton through Columbia's Artist Residency program.

Performing Experience:

Heidie currently performs regularly as the lead singer in Shout Out, one of Chicago's most sought after cover bands. She has also lent her voice as both a live and studio vocalist to several local bands and artists though out the Chicagoland area, and continues to write produce, and perform her own music whenever possible. Heidie has extensive experience within all Contemporary styles, including Pop, Rock, Country, and R&B. Heidie has been a vocal coach in the Chicago area for 2 years.
